Responsible Gambling

18+ only. Gambling is entertainment with a real financial cost. It is never a way to make money or solve a financial problem.

Every slot on every site, including the one this site covers, is built with a mathematical advantage for the operator. That is not a flaw or a secret — it is how the product works. Understanding it is the starting point for playing safely.

The basics that actually help

Decide the amount before you start. Not a limit you will stop at if things go badly — the amount you are prepared to spend entirely, treated as the price of the entertainment.

Never gamble with money you need. Rent, bills, food, borrowed money and credit are not gambling money.

Do not chase losses. Increasing your stake to recover a loss is the single most common way a manageable session becomes an unmanageable one. Losing does not make a win more likely on the next spin.

Set a time limit too. Long sessions blur judgement more effectively than any single bad decision.

Do not play while upset, stressed or drinking. All three quietly change how much you are willing to risk.

Tools every licensed casino must offer

You do not need permission or a conversation with support to use these. They are built into licensed operators, usually under account settings:

Tool What it does
Deposit limit Caps what you can deposit daily, weekly or monthly
Loss limit Caps how much you can lose in a period
Session reminder Alerts you at intervals during play
Time-out Locks your account for a short period — usually 24 hours to 6 weeks
Self-exclusion Blocks your account for a longer period, typically 6 months or more

Deposit limits usually take effect immediately when lowered, and only after a delay when raised. That delay exists for a reason — it protects the decision you made calmly from the decision you might make in the moment.

Warning signs worth taking seriously

  • gambling for longer or with more money than you intended, repeatedly
  • chasing losses, or betting bigger to “get back to even”
  • hiding how much you play, or lying about it
  • borrowing money to gamble, or gambling with money set aside for something else
  • feeling anxious, irritable or low when you are not playing
  • gambling to escape stress, loneliness or low mood
  • relationships, work or sleep suffering because of it

If several of those look familiar, talking to someone is the useful next step — and it is free.

Free, confidential support

International and UK

  • BeGambleAware — free advice, support and treatment referrals. Helpline 0808 8020 133, 24 hours.
  • GamCare — helpline, live chat and structured support programmes.
  • Gamblers Anonymous — free peer-support meetings worldwide, in person and online.
  • Gordon Moody — residential and intensive treatment for severe gambling harm.

Support for family members and partners is available through the same organisations — you do not have to be the person gambling to ask for help.

Under 18

Gambling is prohibited for anyone under 18. Licensed operators verify identity and age at registration, and accounts opened by minors are closed with winnings voided.

If children use your devices, parental control software can block gambling content — Gamban, GamBlock and BetBlocker are widely used, and BetBlocker is free.

Self-exclusion across multiple sites

Blocking one account rarely solves anything if a dozen others remain open. National schemes block many operators at once:

  • GAMSTOP — free, covers operators licensed in Great Britain
  • Blocking software such as Gamban or the free BetBlocker works across devices regardless of licence

If you are in immediate distress, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country. Gambling harm is treatable, and asking for help early makes it considerably easier to treat.
